COLLEGE of St. Benilde vented its ire on hapless Jose Rizal University, getting back to its winning ways in the NCAA Season 94 with an 81-66 victory on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Fresh off a disappointing loss to San Beda, the Blazers were all business from the start as they walloped the Blazers.
Clement Leutcheu scored 16 of his 20 points in the first half to set the tone for the blowout win as they improved to 2-2 for the season.
Yankie Haruna and Edward Dixon picked up from where Leutcheu left off as they combined in the second half to assure that there's no meltdown for the Blazers this time.
"Before we started our game basically what I told the guys is consistency. We’re a young team. We haven’t been together for a long time," said St. Benilde head coach TY Tang.
"Talking about consistency I don’t think we played with that today we had a lot of unnforced turnovers. We weren't able to execute on our plays but it’s still a win," he added.
Haruna added 15 points and two steals as Dixon and Unique Naboa chipped in 10 points and seven boards each.
Jed Mendoza paced the Heavy Bombers with 16 points and six assists though he also finished with nine turnovers.
Mark Mallari also added 14 but it wasn't enough as they dropped to 0-4.
