SAN Sebastian continued to flex its muscles in the NCAA Season 95 seniors basketball tournament, pulverizing Mapua, 92-68, on Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
RK Ilagan and Allyn Bulanadi showed the way as the Stags used a 30-point second quarter eruption to erect a 46-23 halftime lead en route to their second straight victory.
The duo combined for 25 points in the first half as they outscored the whole Mapua squad in the first two quarters.
San Sebastian continued that onslaught in the second half, leading by as many as 33 points.
Ilagan had 20 points, eight assists and four rebounds, while Bulanadi had 16 points, five boards and two dimes.
"They're making a statement and every team in the NCAA is watching. But for us, we're very happy na ganun ang nangyayari because the boys are playing well, focusing on our gameplan, and enjoying the game, playing good defense. Sana matuloy tuloy na namin," said coach Egay Macaraya.
But it wasn't all Ilagan and Bulanadi as four other players reached double digits in scoring.
Alex Desoyo got 16 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Ken Villapando added 13 points and seven boards. JM Calma tallied a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Alvin Capobres had 10 points and seven boards.
Mapua remained in the cellar with its 0-2 slate.
Noah Lugo topscored for the Cardinals with 13 points, while adding three rebounds and three steals, while Laurenz Victoria had 11 points, five boards and three assists.
