STAKES couldn't get any higher for San Sebastian, Mapua, and St. Benilde as the race for the last spot in the NCAA Season 95 Final Four heats up on Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
San Beda (17-0), Lyceum (13-4) and Letran (11-6) have secured semifinal spots.
For the Golden Stags, it's all about protecting their standing as they take on Arellano at 2 p.m.
With a 9-7 record, San Sebastian has the best odds to make it to the next stage.
Coach Egay Macaraya knows the importance of the match and he is counting on Allyn Bulanadi and RK Ilagan to lead the way as they try to recover from a loss to the Cardinals last week.
"Kailangan na namin maipanalo yung mga natitira naming laro if we want to be there sa Final Four," said Macaraya.
Mapua, with an 8-8 record, knows it has no room for errors when it battles Perpetual Help at 12 p.m.
Coach Randy Alcantara and the crew of Laurenz Victoria, Cyril Gonzales and Noah Lugo, make their final push to advance.
"Susubukan pa rin namin. Yun ang kagandahan sa mga batang ito, laban lang," he said.
It's a dire situation for the Blazers, in sixth spot at 7-9, as they battle JRU at 4 p.m.
"We'll still give our all no matter what happens. We want to be there, but apparently, things aren't fully in our control anymore, so we'll just do what we have to do and hope for the best," said St. Benilde coach TY Tang, who will lean on Justin Gutang to get the job done.
