CEBU - NCAA champion San Beda has signed a partnership with a health supplement provider Wisechoice.
Team manager Jude Roque and Wisechoice owner Dick Robertson Yu inked the deal as the supplement company based in the Visayas celebrated its 10th year.
“We are blessed to have Wisechoice as sponsor for our supplements. This is surely a big boost to the Red Lions’ campaign. I am very grateful to Dick (Yu) for the support,” said Roque.
San Beda’s basketball team joins a list of teams and athletes Wisechoice is supporting including IBF champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes and other sports including jiujitsu, athletics and triathlon.
“Usually we sponsor athletes that need our help. We don’t want to choose someone who is popular to just promote the brand but doesn’t believe in supplements. For example, San Beda and Donny Nietes, they need the supplements, so I try to help them and they’ve been very appreciative,” said Yu.
“Actually, Donny is a regular customer so I approached him and offered our support. We asked permission from his manager and coach and fortunately, they gave their approval,” he added.
“It’s more on the recovery side. They appreciate the recovery aspect since it allows them to train harder and the very next day, be able to train once again.”
With five branches in the Visayas area, Wisehoice is expected to expand and reach people from all walks of life who are into fitness.
“We just want to give clients here a wide array of choices. People are understanding more that they need supplements. And I am not just talking about the bodybuilders but also athletes in other sports such as basketball, boxing, jiujitsu, triathlon and even running.
