SAN Beda rolled to its second straight victory in the NCAA Season 93 after dismantling Emilio Aguinaldo College, 81-69, on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Center.

After a tight first half, the Red Lions started to pull away after the break to turn a six point halftime lead into a commanding 62-43 advantage heading into the payoff period.

Davon Potts and Jomari Presbitero led a 17-3 run to start the third quarter and turn a 38-32 lead into a commanding 55-35 advantage midway through the period.

The Generals managed to trim the lead down to 10 with roughly three minutes left in the game, but that's the closest they ever got to the Red Lions as Jayvee Mocon finished them off with some insurance baskets late in the game.

As if things couldn’t get any worse for the Generals, they also lost star guard Francis Munsayac to a sprained ankle after he landed on the foot of Mocon.

Munsayac, who led the Generals with 21 points, had to leave with three minutes left in the game and will undergo tests to determine the severity of his injury.

“We’re happy we got the win but I hope Francis (Munsayac) recovers soon,” said head coach Boyet Fernandez.

“We just have to play from start to finish. Mabuti na lang lamang kami ng six points by the end of the first half. The boys knew what will happen so hopefully we avoid bad starts (in the future),” Fernandez added.

Presbitero led the Lions with 16 points as Donald Tankoua added 12 markers and nine rebounds for the now 3-1 San Beda.

Robert Bollick continued his brilliant all-around play with 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Mocon added 10 while Potts and Doliguez chipped in nine apiece to highlight another balanced attack from the Red Lions.

Jerome Garcia backstopped Munsayac’s efforts with 13 points, five rebounds and five assists but Hamadou Laminou continued to be the missing piece for EAC after making just four of his 18 shots, good for just 13 markers.
