SAN Beda tries to extend its unbeaten run on Thursday when it takes on lowly Jose Rizal University in the NCAA Season 95 seniors' basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The young Red Lions look like they've already figured things out, with Evan Nelle and James Canlas anchoring the backcourt, and fourth-year forward Calvin Oftana and Cameroonian big man Donald Tankoua manning the paint.
And so far, the results speak for itself, with San Beda going 11-0 this season to extend its win run to 23 straight games now, the latest of which a 73-66 whipping of Arellano last week.
Nelle had a field day in the two squad's first round matchup, dishing out 14 assists to steer the Red Lions to a 74-52 victory over the Heavy Bombers last July 12.
JRU (4-7), on the other hand, are just looking to fare better, with young studs Agem Miranda, John Amores, and JL Delos Santos all counted on to make it back-to-back wins after its 69-63 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College last week.
Tip off is at 2 p.m., followed by the 4 p.m. clash between bottom-tier teams Arellano (2-9) and Perpetual (3-7).
The Altas won the first round clash between the two sides, taking the 75-73 squeaker over the Chiefs last June 30.
