BOYET Fernandez did not mince words in lambasting the referees who ejected Robert Bolick late in San Beda’s win over College of St. Benilde on Friday in the NCAA basketball tournament.

Usually calm and collected at post-game interviews, Fernandez was fuming over Carlo Young's hard foul on Bolick at the 2:28 mark of the game.

After a lengthy review, Young was ejected, as was Clint Doliguez who entered the playing court during the scuffle.

Bolick was also given the boot for what officials deemed a “closed fist” strike while they were entangled.

“Bakit naman ito-thrown out mo 'yung tao. Diyos ko naman. The guy was running for MVP. He (NCAA Commissioner Bai Cristobal) destroyed the future of that guy," Fernandez said before storming out of the press room.

It the decision stands, it disqualifies Robert Bolick from individual awards.

He, alongside Doliguez, would also be suspended in their match against Mapua next Friday.

"We'll appeal that for sure, but how can we appeal if there's no report? 'Di ba? We want to know what happened, why they called it for Robert. Bakit?" Fernandez said.

"Tatanungin mo ang referee, ayaw nila sumagot eh. Ano gagawin mo? Tatahimik na lang tayo? They have to justify it."

The replays seem to favor Fernandez and Bolick as it shows that Bolick was just trying to break free from being entangled with Young.

Officials may have used Bolick's way of standing up as a justification for his ejection, but it is unclear if the San Beda guard did hit Young.

"I think it's not a closed fist. It's not really a closed fist. He was really even pushed by the other guy. Natumba na, tinulak pa," Fernandez continued.

"Tatayo yung tao tapos tatawagan mo ng thrown out? Para namang ang layo naman nun. Why, do they want us to lose?"
