ROBERT Bolick lauded San Beda's San Antonio Spurs-like ball movement against Emilio Aguinaldo College as the Red Lions picked up another victory with two games left in the regular season of the NCAA Season 93 seniors basketball.
Bolick spearheaded the Red Lions’ offense as he dished out 12 assists on Friday in their 88-51 win over EAC at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
“We played as a team, we practiced after the game, adjust, back-to-basics, extra passing. Ganda ng pinakita namin ngayon. First quarter, ang ganda. Parang Spurs kami,” said Bolick, visibly happy with how the Red Lions outplayed the Generals.
The Red Lions, who dished out more assists against the Generals, 26-10, finished the first quarter with a 26-11 lead after the Generals took a 5-0 lead early in the game.
Bolick said the unselfish play led to a balanced attack for San Beda, with AC Soberano topscoring for the Red Lions with 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting from threes.
“We have to find our shooters. Kapag nalilibre sila AC, they have to guard him, malilibre kami sa penetrations. It’s a give-and-take relationship. They make shots, nakaka-drive kmai ng maayos, mahihirapan sila sa amin,” said Bolick.
Soberano is happy for the trust Bolick and the rest of his teammates on him in converting long distance shots.
“Credit kina Robert, sa lahat ng teammates ko, at sa mga coaches. Pinrepare nila kami ng maayos every game,” said Soberano.
Following the win over EAC, San Beda now goes into the final stretch with two crucial matches against Letran next Friday, and Lyceum on October 19.
“Dapat ma-continue namin kasi last stretch na ng season. Kailangan namin ma-improve ‘yung kailanga ma-improve,” said Bolick.
