PERPETUAL Help played tough defense throughout but San Beda star Robert Bolick was simply determined deliver.
Bolick went 2-of-13 from the field and turned the ball over eight times in 31 minutes of play, but he managed to score 10 including two pressure-packed baskets shots from the stripe in the dying moments.
Motivated to make up for his mishaps early in the game, Bolick soared high to secure the offensive rebound off a Jomari Presbitero miss before Keith Pido fouled him with 6.9 ticks left.
Gasping for air inside the packed, humid gym in Las Pinas, Bolick made the two free throws that sealed the match for the visiting team, frustrating a raucous crowd that had lifted the Altas' spirits all game long.
"Bad game. At the same time, I just wanna win. I missed shots, I had turnovers, but I just wanna win," said Bolick.
"My shots are wide open, I just can't make them now. I just trust my teammates, it's a team game. If you're having a bad game, your teammates will be there for you."
Indeed, his teammates provided some lift before he brought the team home.
Presbitero nailed back-to-back triples that put the team ahead, 51-49, before Clint Doliguez also nailed a three-pointer.
"I just trusted my teammates. I told them I don't wanna lose in this gym, I don't wanna go out and... I just wanna win. I'm just competitive, I don't wanna lose to anybody," he said.
