RK Ilagan went ablaze for San Sebastian in its season-opening 31-point trouncing of Jose Rizal University, 82-51, on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 95 seniors basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The sweet-shooting guard drilled in 25 points built on five treys, to go with five assists, three rebounds, and two steals for the Golden Stags, who also got 16 points, six boards, and two assists from Alvin Capobres,
Allyn Bulanadi also made his presence felt late, defying doctor's orders and scoring seven points in two minutes of play in his first game back from a dislocated left shoulder.
San Sebastian started off hot, opening a 35-22 halftime lead. Things only got worse for JRU from there as Louie Gonzalez, suffered the worst debut loss from among the five new head coaches this season.
"I'm just challenging the boys lalo na't lagi kaming naisasama sa finals. I guess na-challenge naman yung mga bata and they showed a good game tonight," said coach Egay Macaraya.
Rookies Marwin Dionisio and Stefan Steinl topscored for the rebuilding Heavy Bombers with eight points apiece.
