REYMAR Caduyac has seen it all in his four years with Lyceum both as a member of Team B and the NCAA squad.
This season, Caduyac is glad not just to see but also do his role in finally turning the Pirates to true legitimate title contenders.
Caduyac had 16 points, three rebounds, and seven assists in LPU's 96-91 win over reigning champion San Beda on Friday. But he saved his best for last, with back-to-back clutch lay-ups he made that put the Pirates ahead, 95-89, with 1:03 left in the fourth quarter.
More than the players, the 20-year-old Caduyac said it is LPU's tight-knit group that has led to excel in the preseason and early in Season 93.
"Sobrang saya kasi kumpara last year, mas maganda ang samahan namin ngayon," said Caduyac, who is now on his second season with the Pirates in the NCAA line-up.
With LPU leading by two, Caduyac drove to the baseline after receiving a pass from CJ Perez to give the Pirates a 93-89 lead. On the team's next possession, Caduyac took it himself as he drove past Robert Bolick to propel the Pirates to a six-point advantage.
Caduyac played down the two lay-ups he made late in the game, saying that it was a team effort that made the baskets happen.
"Bago magsimula 'yung game, naka-focus na kaming lahat. 'Yung nagawa ko, para sa buong team naman 'yun," he said.Binigay ko 'yung best ko para sa team," Caduyac said.
