UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help suffered a major setback for its NCAA Season 102 campaign after sophomore guard JD Pagulayan tore his ACL injury in the Altas' game last Thursday against Emilio Aguinaldo College.
The injury came with just 18.8 seconds left in the third quarter after EAC’s Kyle Ochavo inadvertently dove straight into Pagulayan's right knee in his attempt to recover the loose ball after tipping it away from Shawn Orgo.
Pagulayan took awhile before being carried off the court, and didn't return in the Altas' 83-72 win. He finished with just three points and two assists in 11 minutes and 50 seconds of action.

It looked like a sophomore jump was in play for the Tuguegarao-based guard as he opened the season with 18 points, six rebounds, and two assists, albeit in a 77-84 loss to Letran.
The 21-year-old athlete received their MRI results on Sunday, with a final medical verdict expected on Tuesday, sources bared to SPIN.ph. While the exact severity of the injury remains undetermined, Pagulayan has reportedly accepted the possibility of undergoing surgery.
He concludes his campaign so far with averages of 10.5 points, 3.5 rebounds. and 2.0 assists.
