PERPETUAL ended its two-game skid with a close 88-87 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College Tuesday in the NCAA Season 95 seniors basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Altas soldiered on despite the drama that has surrounded their coaching staff and gave interim coach Myk Saguiguit his first win at the helm and improve to 3-5.

"Siguro ito yung parang bawi ng team after that loss sa San Beda," said Saguiguit, the Junior Altas coach tapped to handle the seniors squad.

The university parted ways with NCAA champion coach Frankie Lim days after the Altas suffered a 102-56 humiliation at the hands of the Red Lions last Friday.

"Masyadong na-down yung team namin, so we needed this win very badly. Tinrabaho ng mga bata."

Ben Adamos fired a double-double with his 11 points and 13 rebounds, on top of two blocks. He hit the big 16-foot jumper that put Perpetual up, 88-84, with 46.7 seconds remaining.

JP Maguliano's split from the line put EAC up, 73-70 with 7:22 remaining after staring at a 70-63 deficit early in the fourth quarter.

But Perpetual responded, stringing 11 unanswered points to grab an 81-73 lead with 5:05 to play and keep its foes at bay heading into the final minutes of the game.

Cadua led the Generals with a career-best 22 points on a 5-of-10 clip from deep, alongside four steals, and three rebounds, but his efforts couldn't stop them from suffering their sixth straight loss.
