WE usually ask the coaches and players about their outlook for a respective season, but this time, we don’t have to look far to produce a preview of Season 95 of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament that tips off on Sunday at the MOA Arena.
In this first edition of Spin Sidelines, SPIN.ph writers Randolph B. Leongson and Christian Jacinto, who have covered the college beat for the last half a decade, give their fearless forecasts on different topics regarding the upcoming season of the oldest collegiate league in the country.
We break the preview down to three parts: first about the teams that they believe will reach the Final Four. Then the second part is about the dark horses who can give the favorites a run for their money.
Finally, for the third part, they discuss the opposite ends of the pole: the squads that are bound for a long and trying season, before predicting the last two teams standing at the end of the year.
While they agree on most points, their opinions differ on some aspects, so that’s what you have watch for.
