THE NCAA Policy board has come up with a conclusion that University of Perpetual Help fielded a ‘school-based’ team in a non-NCAA league without informing the league last year.
Key cogs such as Edgar Charcos and Kim Aurin also suited up for that team while they were serving residency, which brought forth the investigation late in the season.
Upon the meeting from the policy board members, which happened early Friday morning before the Final four, the board decided to ‘reprimand’ and ‘sternly warn’ the school for the infraction.
No stiff sanctions were given.
“The Policy Board RESOLVES, as it is hereby RESOLVED, that the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (“UPHS DALTA”) has fielded a school-based team in joining a non-NCAA league. The Policy Board FURTHER RESOLVES, that UPHS DALTA has deviated from the best practice of NCAA member-schools in informing the league prior to joining a non-NCAA league,” said the statement.
“The Policy Board resolves, FINALLY, to REPRIMAND and STERNLY WARN the UPHS DALTA that a similar infraction in the future shall be dealt with severely under NCAA Rules,” he added.
