PRINCE Eze dominated anew at crunchtime as he led Perpetual Help to an 85-73 win over Jose Rizal University in the NCAA Season 94 on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena.
Eze scored 10 points in the final five minutes of the game right when the Heavy Bombers were plotting a comeback after trimming the lead to six, 70-64.
The towering big man scored the final eight points for the Altas as they improved to 8-5 to tie St. Benilde at fourth place. The Heavy Bombers, on the other hand, faced the axe as they fell to 2-12.
Eze's dominating performance preserved the career night of AJ Coronel who finished with his best-scoring performance in a Perpetual uniform as he finished with 22 points anchored on five treys.
“For as long as we continue our roll, we’ll be in good shape. Sinasabi ko nga sa kanila na nakapresenta na sa kanila yung sitwasyon, it’s up to them to embrace it,” said Frankie Lim.
“Itong next three games namin will be very crucial. Kailangan madirediretcho nila yun. Not to give pressure to them, but it’s a must,” he added.
Eze finished with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds while rookie Jielo Razon had another great game with 21 points and five rebounds.
Jed Mendoza had 22 points for the Heavy Bombers while Leo Esguerra finished with 21 points and eight boards in a losing cause.
