THE NCAA is set to launch an investigation into an alleged mauling of a game official in the aftermath of the main game between St. Benilde and Mapua in the league’s Season 100 on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Management Committee is now looking into the episode which allegedly occurred just minutes after the Blazers came from behind to turn back the Cardinals.

League officials refused to name the personalities involved until a clear scenario on what totally sparked the incident has been established.
“Iniimbestigahan pa,” said an NCAA executive, who refused to be named.
The three referees who worked the game were Dominique Pomar, Emmanuel Faraon, and Jerry Borja.
The incident marred a festive start to the celebration of the 100 years of the collegiate league known as the oldest ever in the country.

A text message to NCAA ManCom chairman Herc Callanta has yet to get a response as of posting time.
