FORMER Letran big and NCAA champion Jimly Lantaya needs all the assists he can get as he faces the biggest battle of his life now after being diagnosed with an acute thoracic aortic dissection
According to his sister, Jenily, Lantaya was confined to Metropolitan Medical Center in Manila last March 21 as he complained of difficulty in breathing and chest pains.
He was then transferred to the Philippine Heart Center back on March 23 where two days later he underwent a procedure which lasted almost 14 hours.
“7:00 AM sya pinasok sa OR mga alas 9PM nasa ICU na sya,” his sister detailed.
Lantaya, who played for the Cotabato Warriors in the MPBL and is currently rostered in the GenSan Warriors over at the Pilipinas Super League, is still in the ICU but the good news is that his status has been stable.
As the family shoulders the weight of the growing amount of hospital bills, they are asking for help from the community that saw Jimly play.
Donations can be sent through G-Cash with the account number of 09106559914 for Jenily Lantaya.
