THE NCAA is set to hold basketball games at the gyms of its member schools as part of its plan to bring the league closer to its fanbase in Season 93.
Management Committee (Mancom) chairman Glynn Ortega of Season 93 host San Sebastian said ‘NCAA On Tour’ will be held in the first round.
"We are introducing the 'NCAA On Tour' where we will hold games in schools and other places not only in the San Juan Arena so that we can bring the NCAA closer to the fans," said Ortega during Friday's turnover ceremony at the San Sebastian Little Theater.
Ortega clarified the league will not have a ‘home-and-away’ format as the NCAA will still play in traditional venues like the Filoil Flying V Centre.
'NCAA On Tour' will not be held at all member schools, however, Spin.ph learned, as schools like San Sebastian, Lyceum, College of Saint Benilde may not be able to hosting big audiences.
The NCAA is also looking to again hold games outside Metro Manila.
"Maybe later on, we can go to other places. This is for the good of the fans and followers of the NCAA," said Ortega.
