Mike Nzeusseu gets nod as NCAA Player of the Week after 20-20 game in Pirates' squeaker over Lions

MIKE Nzeusseu was named Chooks-To-Go NCAA Press Corps Player of the Week after leading Lyceum to a tight win over San Beda to complete a sweep of the Season 93 elimination round.

The Cameroonian had 27 points, 21 rebounds, and two blocks as the Pirates beat the Lions San Beda in double overtime, to end the elimination round with a clean 18-0 card.

Nzeusseu was picked by writers covering the league over Lyceum star CJ Perez and Rey Nambatac of Letran.

    Nzeusseu, the Rookie of the Year in Season 92, has been a big part of LPU's transformation to title contenders, averaging 11.4 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks this year.

    "It's really special," LPU coach Topex Robinson said. "I think what transpired here is not just us but the whole LPU community - the culture, the tradition with LPU. It's just something that I'm so grateful for."
