MIKE Nzeusseu came out with a monster game as he powered Lyceum to a tough 85-80 win over San Sebastian in the nightcap of the NCAA Season 94 opener on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Nzeusseu finished with 23 points and 20 rebounds while coming up big in the fourth quarter to tow the Pirates to a hard-earned victoey over the veteran Stags, as they claimed their 19th straight win in the elimination round dating to last season.
Nzeusseu quickly went to work after Ian Valdez tied the game with a three-pointer for the Stags, 77-77, with 3:04 remaining in the game. Nzeusseu quickly answered for the Pirates to push them back up, before securing an offensive rebound and an assist on the next play to Spencer Pretta, whose three gave the Pirates an 82-77 lead with 2:17 left.
The Stags tried to cut into the lead repeatedly, but MJ Ayaay put the game away with a floater with 28 seconds to go to win the game for good.
