BITTERSWEET is the feeling for Michael Calisaan that after eight years, he's bidding goodbye to the school he's known and loved.

"Masaya ako kasi nanalo kami, pero may kasamang lungkot kasi yun na yun eh. Yun na yung last game ko," he said after leading San Sebastian to a 91-63 victory over Arellano to cap off its campaign in NCAA Season 94.

Calisaan couldn't be blamed given how long he has stayed in Recto.

"Ilang taon din ako sa Baste. Eight years ako doon dahil mula nung high school, nandoon na ako. Isa lang yung tinitirhan namin," he said, struggling to keep his emotions in check as the curtain slowly closes on his collegiate career.

"Ma-miss ko yung mga ganoong bagay, yung mga kasama ko yung teammates ko araw-araw."

But all good things must come to an end, and for Calisaan, he's set to embark on a new chapter in his basketball career -- one that will take him outside of the comforts of San Sebastian.

The hardworking 6-foot-4 forward remains undecided on where he will take his talents, though it's definite that he will try his luck and join the upcoming 2018 PBA Rookie Draft.

"Sa sarili ko, alam ko na kaya ko," he said.

San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya also believes that his top gun can fare decently in the pro league in the three years he's handled him.

"Yun yung maganda kay Michael. Wala siyang limit sa pag-asenso and I think naman nakikita naman natin na lahat pwede niyang gawin. He can be a leader and he can play multiple positions, may it be the three or four," the outspoken mentor said.

Calisaan said that he's still at a crossroads when it comes to his next move, especially with the Bataan Risers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) also wooing him.

There's no denying, though, that the 23-year-old cager is primed for big things and he's happy to have honed his game under Maracaya in San Sebastian.

"Natutunan ko talaga is yung attitude and yung skills. No choice kami dahil wala kaming import at kulang kami sa players kaya natuto ako maglaro ng four bukod pa sa kaya kong maglaro ng three," he said.

"Nakikita naman. Yung naibibigay ko sa laro ko dito sa San Sebastian, ganoon din yung maitutulong ko sa team na mapupuntahan ko, kahit saan man yun."
