CHICO Manabat knows that if Arellano wants to fulfill its playoff dreams in the NCAA Season 101, the Chiefs will have to find a way to stay consistent.

It was a back-and-forth affair in the opening period, but the Chiefs struggled to sustain their intensity in the second frame, giving the Generals the leeway to finally break away.
For Manabat, it wasn’t just about losing the game, but about losing grip on the steadiness they’ve been trying to build all season.
“‘Yun nga ‘yung lagi kong nire-remind sa kanila, ‘yung consistency,” he told the SPIN.ph.
“’Di rin kami maka-shoot sa outside shooting namin and parang nabudol kami. It’s a big loss for us, pero ‘yun ‘yung maging fuel namin sa game namin sa Sunday.”
While Manabat understands that nothing will come easy for his team, he believes it’s all up to not be satisfied by getting a win here and there – and start building a real streak moving forward.
“Process ‘yan eh,” he said.
“Sa progression namin, kailangan i-feel talaga ng mga bata ‘yan. Kung walang consistency, kailangan ma-figure out nila kung pa-paano namin. Kami rin naman ‘yung gagawa ng mga adjustment sa mga next game namin.”
For Manabat, he hopes the sting turns into spark especially with another test awaiting them against Benilde on Sunday.
“Magiging fuel sa’min ‘yan para sa next game namin vs CSB,” he added.
“Now, in-address naman namin ‘yung dapat gawin, ‘yung relentless effort namin and of course ‘yung winning attitude na kailangan naming dalhin sa game.”
Manabat will be once again looking at Renzo Abiera who has been one of the few consistent players for Arellano – posting averages of 14.2 points a night.
“Siguro ang maganda ron ‘yung consistency ni Renzo,” Manabat said.
“Pero ‘yung kailangan namin, ‘yung 15 na naka-line up. Sana maging consistent din lahat para at least maging maganda rin ‘yung result ng game.”
