RENZO Navarro and Jayson David showed what San Sebastian missed as they towed Lyceum to an 80-69 come-from-behind win over the Golden Stags Tuesday in the NCAA Season 95 seniors basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The first-year Pirates stuck it to their former school as they steered the killer 19-3 finishing kick to crawl their way back from a 13-point first half deficit.

Navarro punctured eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as he shot 3-of-6 from deep, two of which coming in that crucial haymaker of a run, alongside a rebound, an assist, and a steal.

David was equally potent with his 10 points, six rebounds, three dimes, and a steal in his first game against San Sebastian since leaving Recto last year.

"I really admire these two players. Yes, they came from San Sebastian but it was not about them versus San Sebastian. It was Lyceum versus San Sebastian," said coach Topex Robinson.

Jayvee Marcelino led Lyceum's balanced attack with12 points and two assists, while twin Jaycee got 11 points, four boards, three assists, and three steals.

Enoch Valdez also stepped up with a double-double performance of 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Mike Nzeusseu also played his first game of the season from a jammed right index finger and churned out six points, six boards, and a block in 24 minutes of action.

"We all know coming into the game that we are not out there beat San Sebastian. We are out there to play our best. We just kept on playing and making shots," said Robinson as his side claimed back-to-back wins to rise to 3-1.

San Sebastian incurred its first loss in three outings with Allyn Bulanadi pacing the squad with 13 points and six rebounds.

So impressive was the Lyceum defense that it only allowed San Sebastian to just 35-percent shooting from the field and held the usually high-octane RK Ilagan scoreless and limiting him to just four shots.
