LYCEUM has added a young big to its frontline by securing the commitment of Shawn Umali from Letran.

Spin.ph sources confirmed that the 6-foot-4 former Squires banger has chosen to move elsewhere in Intramuros and found a new home with the Pirates.

Topex Robinson, Lyceum's director of basketball operations, also confirmed the acquisition of the 19-year-old bruiser on Friday.

Umali posted averages of 11.3 points on 50-percent shooting, alongside 9.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.5 blocks in his senior year in Letran.

He earned his place in the All-Defensive Team last NCAA Season 95 as the Squires finished at seventh place in the juniors division with their 8-10 win-loss card.

"We are building a lineup consisting of young guys looking into a long-term plan for LPU," Robinson said. "Shawn will be a big addition to our program."

Umali joins Lyceum's homegrown stars Mclaude Guadana and John Barba, as well as super scorer John Bravo from First City Providential College as Lyceum's pickups from the recruitment haul.
