ONE hour at the free throw line has become part of Letran’s prescription, with head coach Allen Ricardo hoping the extra reps will finally cure the Knights’ costly struggles at the charity stripe.
The extended sessions are aimed at addressing one of the blue-and-red's biggest weaknesses in NCAA Season 102 - and Letran did show encouraging progress in its 70-66 win over JRU.

The Knights converted 24 of 38 free throws for a season-best 63.2-percent, delivering some much-needed improvement just in time for the stretch run.
“We even allotted them more than an hour to practice their free throws,” the fiery mentor shared with reporters.
“Medyo mahina pa rin, but the most important thing is ’yung dulo, ’di ba? [Nat Montecillo] made those crucial free throws.”
Lots of improvement for Letran
Still, Ricardo was far from pleased with the Knights’ game, rating their showing against the Heavy Bombers a five out of 10 despite coming away with the win.

He stressed how his wards' execution in the crucial moments still needs fine-tuning, as tougher games loom over the horizon.
“Of course, because of the pressure of the game, we have to learn how to execute under pressure and with physicality. ’Yun ’yung mga gusto nating ma-overcome or ma-achieve, especially going into the playoffs,” he said.
