LETRAN looks to break the jinx that has haunted previous hosts on the NCAA on Tour in Season 93 as College of St. Benilde swings by at the Knights' gym in Intramuros on Tuesday.
Host teams have been winless so far as Arellano and Mapua dropped their respective games in the past editions of the tour.
Knights coach Jeff Napa is motivated to reverse the trend and finally put homecourt advantage to good use.
"Disadvantage nga yun kasi dalawang talo nga yung home team eh. So it's another motivation again sa amin kasi nga yung dalawang home team, puro talo eh," Napa said.
"So siguro, kailangan namin i-prove na hindi jinxed yung home team," he added.
Coming off a morale boosting 82-75 win over Arellano on Tuesday only helps Letran’s cause as the Knights have found some rhythm after an inconsistent start to the season.
"We will give our best. Kung ano man ang pagkukulang namin sa game na ito, pupunan namin, then gagawa kami ng paraan para itama pa lalo yun," Napa continued as he saw big games from Jeo Ambohot and Jeremiah Taladua to support star Rey Nambatac.
"It's a matter of giving back sa school namin at sa mga audience namin, lalo na sa mga students, alumni, at least ngayon mas mare-reach out na kami kasi talagang andun na kami sa bahay namin," he added.
The soft spoken head coach promised to give the Blazers a warm welcome off the court, but it’s a different story once the whistle blows.
"So welcome na welcome talaga, talagang magkikita na lang kami ng Benilde doon. Iwe-welcome namin sila ng maganda, makakalabas naman sila ng maayos," he said.
