FORMER La Salle center Larry Muyang is getting a fresh start after transferring to Letran, now undergoing residency before becoming eligible to play for the Knights in the NCAA come 2018.
Letran coach Jeff Napa confirmed Muyang has joined the Knights, but will not play for the coming Season 93 as he was unable to enroll in time to meet the required one-year residency period for transferees.
Instead, Muyang will play for Letran in Season 94.
The 6-foot-5 center out of Sta. Ana, Pampanga last played for La Salle in 2015 and delivered quality minutes for the Green Archers under former coach Juno Sauler.
But he was eased out of the lineup last season following the arrival of Ben Mbala and Justine Baltazar, who, like Muyang, belongs to the stable of Pampanga vice governor Dennis Pineda.
His coming stint with Letran could be the break he is looking for since the Knights need size and heft to battle against foreign players of other schools.
Muyang will be 22 in September.
“Late siya dumating kasi. Kailangan niya mag-serve ng one-year residency. Pero happy ako sa magiging line-up ko this season [even with the absence of Muyang],” said Napa.
