MAKING an immediate impact, rookies JV and JC Marcelino have helped tow Lyceum to the NCAA Final Four, and Topex Robinson and Pirates main man CJ Perez are very grateful.
With the twins, the Pirates got an added dimension and completed the final pieces for the fast-paced offense that Robinson wanted to run.
"It's their strength … kahit ako naguguluhan pag andoon sa loob 'yung dalawa. Medyo challenging for me, but we have to honor them for always giving us the energy that we need," said Robinson.
"They're trying to make sure that, the opportunity na binigay sa kanila, they're just taking advantage of that, and that's what's good about these twins," he added.
With the two wreaking havoc on the backcourt, the Pirates now have the luxury to pressure for nearly 40 minutes and quicken their attack on offense.
It also eases the load off Perez’s shoulders.
"Playing with these two guys, napapagaan ang ginagawa ko kasi tatambay lang ako sa kabila, mag-aabang lang ako," said Perez.
"So malaking tulong sila sa akin kasi 'di ako napapagod minsan kasi sila talaga ang dumedepensa," he added.
The twins are thankful to be part of this semis run but vows that they won’t stop.
"Siyempre masaya ako na rookie year palang namin maeexperience ko na namin ang Final Four," said JC Marcelino.
"Hindi parin kami titigil sa pagttrabaho kasi ang goal namin makuha namin ang championship para ma-inspire namin lahat ng humahanga sa amin, pati mga pamilya namin," he added.
JV echoed his twin’s sentiments: "Lagi namin pupursigihin na magtrabaho pa sa loob ng court at maging energetic sa team namin. Mas pagbubutihan pa namin to."
