JP Calvo said recent developments that surrounded Letran days before the start of NCAA Season 93 will only make the bond between the Knights stronger.
The 19-year-old Calvo confirmed he will be suiting up for the Knights in Season 93, ruling out the possibility that he might skip the coming year. As proof that he is staying, Calvo joined the team during Friday morning's pep rally at the Letran college grounds.
"Nag-usap na kami ni coach Jeff (Napa) about sa sitwasyon," said Calvo.
Aside from Calvo, Bong Quinto will also be playing for the Knights after reports surfaced that one of the remnants of the 2015 championship team will skip Season 93 of the country's oldest collegiate league.
Despite the controversy, Calvo, one of the veterans of the team who was also part of the Knights' 2015 squad, said the incident will only make the team closer.
"Sa palagay ko, eto 'yung way na magiging buo kami. Kasi parang 'yung team namin, parang hindi pa ganun ka-buo talaga. Siguro, eto 'yung dahilan na gagawin namin para mag-regroup uli. Eto 'yung way para gawin kung ano kailangan naming gawin sa team lalo na 'yung sa role namin," said Calvo.
Letran opens its season against Mapua on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan and Calvo looks forward to begin its campaign.
"Kasi gusto ko i-prove kila coach at sa mga teammates ko na andito ako, kaya kong tumulong sa kanila," Calvo said.
