JERRICK Balanza underwent a successful operation which removed the tumor in his head last Friday at the National Kidney Transplant Institute.
Balanza would have been subject for another operation in the ENT, but since the initial procedure went well, he doesn't have to go under the knife yet again.
The operation lasted four hours and a half and the tumor will now be subject for biopsy to see if it is cancerous.
According to Letran athletic director Fr. Vic Calvo, the doctor is confident that it isn't.
Balanza is currently in the recovery room and the result of the biopsy could be out in a week.
