IN A game that was expected to be tight from start to finish, San Sebastian put together a performance to remember.
The Stags nailed 16 three pointers as they scored an all-important victory in the NCAA Season 93, scorching the Letran Knights, 95-64, on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.
Leading by eight, the Stags went near flawless from the outside by pouring in a 17-0 near the end of the quarter behind Allyn Bulanadi.
Bulanadi's three capped off that amazing rally to give the Stags a 66-41 lead.
Instead of cooling down, San Sebastian continued to sizzle in the payoff period, leading by as many as 33, 87-54, following a Kevin Baytan three pointer with 2:33 left.
The win allowed the Stags to get a share of third place with Jose Rizal University at 7-6 as Letran fell to fifth place with a 7-7 record.
"We didn't expect it to be this big. Hindi talaga. But I guess they gave up early. Masyado silang maagang bumigay," said San Sebastian head coach Egay Macaraya.
"Yung last game nag-overtime kaya hindi ko talaga ineexpect talaga to," he added.
The Stags were so sharp on offense as 10 players had atleast a three pointer in the lopsided win.
Their ball movement was also as fluid as 23 of their 32 field goals came from assists.
Jayson David shone on both ends for San Sebastian, topscoring for his team with 17 points to go along five boards and four steals.
Bulanadi added 16 as Michael Caliisaan added 13 points and seven boards.
Bong Quinto led the Knights with 14 points and six rebounds but his partner in Rey Nambatac got shut down with just six points while attempting just four shots.
