LYCEUM may have lost an early 31-point lead in its game against Emilio Aguinaldo College, but the team could not allow the win to fall off of its grasps.
Not on Jaycee Marcelino’s watch.
“Ayaw ko matalo eh, kaya pinag-pursigihan kong magtrabaho sa court para maibalik namin ang lamang namin at manalo kami,” said the NCAA Season 93 Rookie of the Year.
Marcelino uncorked 13 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Pirates held off the Generals, 106-97 on Friday. He also hauled down eight rebounds, five steals, and two assists in the win as they grabbed their second win this NCAA Season 94.
But the 20-year-old guard believes that the game should serve as a lesson for Lyceum after squandering a 72-41 midway in the third quarter – an eye-opener for it to better protect those big leads if it wants to turn those into wins.
The Pirates seek to remain atop of the standings when they take on JRU next Friday.
