DOES Bonnie Tan's appointment as NorthPort coach spell the end of San Miguel Corp.'s support for Letran?
Well, not quite.
The soft-spoken mentor said that as of the moment, Petron remains committed to the Knights' men's basketball program as he is still on top of the situation despite his appointment as NorthPort coach.
"Tuloy-tuloy pa rin 'yung suporta ng Petron ngayon," he said, sharing that the company still provides allowances and continued to fund the team's needs at the turn of the year.

Aside from being the Letran coach, Tan was also the team manager of the Batang Pier before switching places with former head coach Pido Jarencio.
Rumors of SMC's potential pullout from Muralla gained ground after the Knights completed a three-peat after their NCAA Season 98 seniors basketball championship triumph.
SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua himself fuelled the chatter, hinting in a television interview about the parting of ways.
Yet Tan said that everything remains the same as of the moment as Letran builds its future following the graduation of top players Fran Yu, Brent Paraiso, and King Caralipio, and the imminent departure of Louie Sangalang.
The Knights are banking on holdovers led by Kurt Reyson, Pao Javillonar, young guns Kobe Monje, Rafael Go, and Kyle Tolentino, and incoming transferee Deo Cuajao to maintain their standing at the pinnacle of the league come NCAA Season 99.
"Binubuo pa rin natin yung team na maging competitive para sa susunod na season. So kung pag-uusapan natin yung suporta ng Petron, as is pa rin tayo ngayon," he said.
