SAN Sebastian finally saw a ray of light in an otherwise gloomy NCAA Season 94 as it got back at Emilio Aguinaldo College, 78-67, on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Arena.
The Stags took advantage of a cold stretch for the Generals to start the fourth period as they scored 15 unanswered points to open the fourth period and turn a 50-52 deficit into a commanding 65-52 lead halfway through the period.
The returning RK Ilagan led the way in the fourth as veterans Michael Calisaan and Allyn Bulanadi to finish off the Generals and improve to 2-9.
"The boys played good defense talaga. At least nakabawi kami sa huling pagkatalo namin sa EAC," said San Sebastian head coach Egay Macaraya.
"Hopefully this will be a good start at maka-recover na kami. Nakuha na namin yung confidence. Maganda yung defense ng mga bata ngayon," he added.
Ilagan led the Stags with 16 points and three assists while Calisaan finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Three other players scored in double digits for the Stags as Alvin Capobres added 14, Bulanadi finished with 12 while Arjan dela Cruz chipped in 11.
