FRANKIE Lim has taken a leave as head coach of the Perpetual Altas.
School's athletic director Sammy Acaylar confirmed the news, saying the four-time NCAA champion coach briefly leaving the squad following a poor start to the season.
"Coach Frankie Lim is on leave, as per the decision of the ex-com of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA," he said in a brief text message.
Without last year's MVP Prince Eze, Perpetual stumbled to a 2-5 card in the ongoing seniors basketball tournament, losing five of its last six games.
Things took a turn for the worse on Friday when the Altas were dealt a 46-point humiliation by Lim's former team San Beda, 102-56.
Junior Altas coach Myk Saguiguit will handle the reins for the seniors team in place of Lim.
Perpetual is coming off a Final Four appearance last year, finishing with an 11-7 card before bowing to eventual champion San Beda.
