THE Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals (4-2) picked up rare back-to-back wins at the expense of gritty Arellano, (1-5), 79-76, in the NCAA Season 99 men’s basketball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre on Friday.
Back-to-back three-pointers from King Gurtiza silenced the Arellano crowd and gave EAC the lead for good, 77-74, after a long, uphill climb.
Nicole Quinal's layup, 79-74, sealed the Generals' fourth win in six games.
JP Maguiliano led the Generals with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists while Robin chipped in 15 points 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Arellano, now 1-5 (win-loss), was led by Jade Talampas, 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. Troy Valencia added 16 points, 6 rebounds, and one assist.
