AGONY continued for San Sebastian and the misery will continue up to November.
Emilio Aguinaldo College was the latest to add to the suffering of the Golden Stags with a 96-64 beatdown on Tuesday at Playtime Filoil Centre in San Juan.
MJ Raymundo presided over the rout, leading the Generals with 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists to hike EAC's record to 4-6, bolstering its stranglehold of the third spot in Group B in the NCAA Season 102.
Joseph Nunag also was a spark off the bench with his 16 points and six boards, EJ Castillo drained 13 points, three rebounds, and two assists, and Jude Bagay collected 10 points and six boards in a balanced attack for the Generals.
It was a wire-to-wire victory for EAC where slowly but surely asserted control of the game, enjoying a lead as big as 35 points by shooting 43-percent from the field and scoring 19 points off San Sebastian's 20 turnovers.
"It's a very crucial game for us. We needed to win this one kasi we're shooting for no. 2 (sa group) so we want to keep our chances alive," said coach Jerson Cabiltes as EAC kept itself in play for a top two finish in Group B as it sits a game behind idle Arellano (5-5).
The 32-point rout also allowed the Generals to put behind their heartbreaking 89-86 loss to San Beda last week as they continue their trek in second round.
On the flipside, this defeat kept the winless San Sebastian at the cellar with its 0-11 record, extending its losing skid to 15 games dating back to last season.
Compounding the Recto crew's woes were the right knee injury for Carlo John Ynot and the ejection of Arwin Alforque midway through the payoff period.
Kent Bacani topscored for the Golden Stags with 22 points as Alforque and Nurben Muktimar both scored 10.
