EMILIO Aguinaldo College coach Ariel Sison was visibly disappointed with the officiating during the crucial stage of their game against Arellano on Friday in the NCAA Season 93 basketball tournament.

Sison rued the technical foul called on Sidney Onwubere for complaining about a non-call on an alleged travelling violation on Lervin Flores with 1:32 left in the fourth and the Generals down, 75-74.

Since Flores was also fouled on the play, Arellano was given three free throws due to an Onwubere technical foul plus an extra possession in which Zach Nichols was also fouled by Jerome Garcia while throwing up a three.

After the Nichols free throw, Arellano was already up by four points, 78-74, with 1:18 in the fourth.

The turn of events didn't sit well with Sison, who felt the technical foul decided the outcome of the game.

"I felt that it was not fair. The referees decided the game. It should be the players," said Sison.

The EAC coach also said he was surprised that the technical foul was called on Onwubere during the play.

"Nagulat nga ako that is why I'm reacting. Sabi ko, bakit may ball possession at three free throws. Nagulat ako, hindi ko alam na may technical pala kami."

Sison also felt Flores did escape with a travelling violation.

"Travelling talaga naman eh. Palagay ko travelling.. Fumake siya tapos umi-step up pa ng isa. I don't know how they will interpret my sentiments," said Sison, who felt the loss was crucial since the Generals are in the chase for the Final Four berth.

The loss dropped EAC to 6-7, just a game ahead of Arellano (5-8), with the heavyweights including unbeaten Lyceum part of the Generals' remaining schedule.

"We wanted to win the game because that's the only opportunity that we can move to the Final Four. Now I don't know what will happen. We will face LPU on Tuesday. Let's wait and see," said Sison.

The EAC mentor also pointed out that he's ready to face the consequences of his comments to the media. San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez was previously slapped with a one-game suspension after critical comments to officiating during their match against College of Saint Benilde.

"I don't know how they will react to this comment. If they will penalize me or what, I will just be ready for that. But I'm not satisfied with the way how they managed the game today," said Sison.
