CJ Perez' individual brilliance in the NCAA Season 93 was finally rewarded as he was named the league's Most Valuable Player on Friday, moments before Lyceum began the title showdown with San Beda at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Perez didn't disappoint in his return to the league after a fruitless stint with Ateneo as he posted a league best 19.3 points per game to go along 6.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and nearly two steals a game to lead the Pirates to an 18-game sweep of the eliminations.
The two-guard out of Pangasinan edged out teammate Mike Nzeusseu, San Beda's JV Mocon and EAC's Sydney Onwubere for the top individual plum.
The four guys mentioned above, along with Perpetual's Prince Eze were named to the Mythical team.
Perez's teammate JC Marcelino was named as Rookie of the Year.
Jose Rizal University guard Jed Mendoza was named Most Improved Player while Eze was hailed as defensive player of the year.
Joining Eze in the All Defense team were Onwubere, Nzeusseu, JRU's Abdulrazak Abulwahab and Mapua's Christian Bunag.
