LYCEUM will finally get the chance to continue its dominant run in the NCAA Season 93 as it takes on College of St. Benilde on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Center, three days after the league suspended two game days due to inclement weather.
The Pirates were supposed to play the Mapua Cardinals on Friday, but due to heavy rains brought by Typhoon Gorio, that match was pushed back.
Now Lyceum looks to make it five wins in as many games against the Blazers, who have lost back-to-back games after scoring a win by technicality over Perpetual Help.
Gametime is at 12 p.m. followed by the match between Arellano University and Letran at 2 o’clock and the clash between San Sebastian and Perpetual at 4 p.m.
“We just want to continue playing the game the right away, against any opponent, we want to make sure na we’re na honoring the game,” said Lyceum head coach Topex Robinson who, time and time again, have warned his squad of complacency.
CJ Perez has been as good as advertised, as the high leaping wing man is posting a league high 20.5 points per game to go along 5.5 boards and 1.3 steals, and Robinson stresses Perez isn’t even pushing himself too much.
“CJ is always gonna be there but he understands that he isn’t bigger than the team,” said Robinson when asked about his prized recruit.
“We’re gonna win games because of him and we’re gonna lose games because of him but we’re gonna keep going with him. The good thing is that he understands he’s not better than any of his teammates.”
Meantime, expect nothing but high paced basketball when the Chiefs (2-2) and the Knights (1-3) collide at 2 p.m.
Both teams have yet to see ample support for their stars this season.
The Altas (1-2) and the Stags (1-2) on the other hand has been dealt with tough luck to start the season and a win at their 4 p.m. clash could be the start of an impressive run for either school.
