LYCEUM stormed back from a double-digit deficit in the first half to stun Arellano, 82-65, and stay unbeaten in the NCAA Season 94 on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
CJ Perez led the onslaught for the Pirates, scoring 22 of his career best 31 in the second half to lead the Pirates from 16 points down in the first half to another comfortable win.
The reigning NCAA MVP, who added six assists, six rebounds and five steals, was involved in every made basket starting the second quarter either through scoring or passing in an amazing display to lead the Pirates to their fourth win in as many games.
Mike Nzeusseu added 15 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks as MJ Ayaay and JV Marcelino chipped in 13 and 10 respectively.
However, it was their defense in the next three quarters which proved to be pivotal as they limited the Chiefs to just 32 points after giving away 33 in the first quarter.
Michael Canete led Arellano with 12 points as ex-Lyceum stalwart added 11. The loss sent the Chiefs to 1-1.
