LYCEUM shored has added 2017 Cesafi Juniors MVP Beirn Laurente to its already loaded guard rotation.
Coach Topex Robinson confirmed the development on Thursday.
"When we lost CJ (Perez) and MJ (Ayaay) to graduation, we were looking for guys who can take over for that gap. Having him, who's a proven champion, an MVP, and young potential, can be big factor for us in Lyceum," the soft-spoken mentor said.
Laurente led the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers to the Cesafs Jrs title in 2017.
The 5-foot-10 guard out of Baybay, Leyte will reinforce the already potent backcourt rotation of Lyceum led by twins Jaycee and Jayvee Marcelino.
"Knowing we were given a chance for a bluechip talent like Beirn, it's just a testament on the program that we've built," said Robinson.
Laurente, 19, joins transferees Jayson David, Renzo Navarro, Alvin Baetiong and Jerwyn Guinto, who are all set to suit up this year together with Team B call-ups Casper Pericas and Yancy Remulla.
