LETRAN ended its two-game skid with a 97-84 victory over Arellano Thursday in the NCAA Season 95 seniors basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Bonbon Batiller led six Knights who notched double-digits, scoring 18 points while making four assists and two rebounds.
Larry Muyang added 15 points and five boards, as frontcourt partner Jeo Ambohot had 15 points and six rebounds.
Allen Mina scored 12 built on a pair of treys, Jerrick Balanza had 11 points, four rebounds and two assists, while Fran Yu had 11 points, six assists, three boards and two steals in the win.
Letran hiked its record to 10-6 after tough defeats to Lyceum and San Beda.
The Knights look to close the gap on the No. 2 Pirates at 11-3.
"Hindi pa naman huli ang lahat. Hindi pa naman tapos. Hopefully makuha namin yung mga remaining games going to the Final Four," said coach Bonnie Tan.
Down by three at halftime, Letran shook off the cobwebs and trampled on Arellano with a blazing 34-point third quarter blast to seize a commanding 80-66 lead.
Justin Arana led the Chiefs with 19 points, three rebounds, three assists and three blocks, while Kent Salado got 18 points, four dimes and two boards.
Arellano at 4-11 is now in danger of bowing out from the playoff race.
