THERE is broadcast life for the NCAA after GMA.
No less than two outfits led by Bilyonaryo News Channel (BNC) are fighting for airing rights of the coming Season 102 of the country’s 'Grand Ol' League.'

BNC was the first to express interest in taking over coverage after the NCAA no longer renewed its previous five-year partnership with GMA.

Cignal, though, has entered the picture belatedly, as the outfit owned by business and sports tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan made a bid to acquire the TV rights to one of the Philippines' premier collegiate leagues.
BNC made its presentation to the NCAA Management Committee (ManCom) last June 9 at the Philippine Columbian Association, while Cignal, which already owns coverage rights to the UAAP, formally submitted its letter of intent last June 20.
A third party in ABS-CBN is likewise eyeing to reclaim its broadcast rights to the NCAA after previously serving as its coveror prior to GMA. No official letter of proposal, however, has been received by the league.
Where to, NCAA?
The NCAA Policy Board has asked the ManCom to conduct further review of competing proposals submitted, with a decision expected to be made by the first week of July.
During its presentation, BNC impressed NCAA officials after committing to provide free-to-air TV coverage, extensive social media promotion, and a dedicated focus on the league as its lone sports property.
It likewise cited having generated more than half a billion social media engagements since last year.
Two other entities also made presentations - one of which, reportedly, was Solar Sports, while the other was a production company, but not a TV network.
