ROBERT Bolick is already one of the best players in the collegiate scene today – having led San Beda to back to back NCAA titles – which led him to being named as the Collegiate Player of the Year last season.

But he wants to be better, so he’s planning to work with someone who’s carried his game from the collegiate ranks to the pros.

“Mine-message ko si Kiefer (Ravena) kasi 'di naman siya naglalaro this time. May free time siya pwede niya akong turuan,” Bolick said after San Beda’s 75-69 win over St. Benilde last Tuesday.

There might not be many holes in Bolick’s game right now, but he’s certainly gonna get some fine tuning from the two-time UAAP MVP particularly in the offensive aspect of the game.

“Kasi sabi niya sa'kin I have to work on my pull-up jump shot. I’m not really good in those kinds of shots, si Kiefer is one of those guys who can hit those jump shots,” Bolick said.

Ravena said that it was him who brought the idea to Bolick and offered to train with him. With Ravena sidelined until August 2019, the Phenom is making the most out of his free time helping other athletes.

Ravena, who is serving out an 18-month suspension from Fiba after testing positive for a banned substance, said they are still looking to synch their schedules.

“Hindi pa (nag-start mag-train). Setting up our schedula pa. Nag-approach lang ako para matulungan din siya, tutal I’m not that busy naman,” Ravena said.

“Hopefully I don’t get to violate anything with regard to my sanction,” he added.

For Bolick, who finished with 25 points in their win over the Blazers, any help will be appreciated especially for a player like him who believes that learning should never stop.

“Gusto ko matuto nang matuto nang matuto hangga't kung sino yung pwede dyan na makatulong sa game para tumaas kasi no limit naman yung dreams and expectations mo sa sarili mo,” said Bolick.

“Gusto ko dun sa taas eh. Lahat naman kami, kahit sinong player tanungin mo, they want to be on top. Di naman kami nagppractice ng umaga para lang gusto lang namin ganto lang. Syempre yun yung motivation ko.”
