WITH NCAA Season 100 still underway, St. Benilde has already secured the commitment of two key transferees for Season 101.
Raffy Celis and SJ Moore have arrived in Taft Avenue and will now sit out a year before becoming eligible to play for the Blazers next season.

The 6-foot-2 Moore, an athletic guard, had norms of 2.4 points and 1.4 rebounds for University of Santo Tomas, while Celis, a 6-foot-3 wing, averaged 2.0 points and 2.3 rebounds for Ateneo last year

The arrival of the two comes on the heels of Benilde’s perfect start to Season 100, where it has raced to a 4-0 standing and the solo lead.
Sealing the deal with Celis
Benilde coach Charles Tiu disclosed he’s been eyeing Celis for years dating back to his high school days at Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu.

“I tried to recruit him before he went to Ateneo. We went to Cebu with boss Frank and Jacob Lao to visit him. In fact, we already had an agreement in place, but at the last second, Ateneo gave a much better offer, and he decided to go there,” the Blazers mentor recalled, referring to the team's main backers.
“Somehow things fell into place, and he will end up playing for us after all. He’s a really good player, and after playing and training under coach Tab [Baldwin] for the last year, I’m sure he’s gotten even better now.”
