HAVING proven himself as one of the best young scorers in the country today, Allyn Bulanadi is ready to declare for the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft.
"Goal ko yan, yung magpa-draft sa PBA," he said after seeing his collegiate career with San Sebastian end with an 85-80 defeat to Letran in the NCAA Season 95 stepladder semifinals on Tuesday.
Bulanadi left quite an impression on scouts with his stellar fifth season with the Golden Stags, averaging a league-best 20.3 points, to go with 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals.
He is projected to be a first-round selection and could go as high as within the top five.
With him steering the ship, San Sebastian returned to the Final Four this year. Though the Golden Stags fell short of their goal, the 6-foot-2 Davaoeno was proud on how he held his own and made his mark in the collegiate scene.
"Syempre, it was a good run para sa akin. Okay lang naman din dahil at least, na-prove namin ang kakayahan namin hanggang dito," he said.
But before he makes the jump to the PBA, Bulanadi is set to see action first for Basilan Steel in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), where he looks to fine-tune his game more.
"Syempre ibang level na yung competition. More on set plays na, tapos malalaki na ang katawan ng mga kalaban. Kaya papalaki lang ako ng katawan ng konti tapos mental preparation lang," the 22-year-old said.
"Lulubusin ko naman. Yun ang promise ko. Wala nang pahinga, diretso na para makapahabol ako sa mga kuya ko."
