SAN Beda left nothing to doubt with its excellent, 98-77, Game Three victory over Lyceum to once again seize the NCAA juniors basketball championship on Tuesday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Finals MVP Rhayyan Amsali anchored the Red Cubs with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals to win the title for the first time since 2015.
It was also San Beda's 23rd NCAA title in the juniors division to hold the record for most championships in the league.
Justine Sanchez paced the Red Cubs with 19 points and seven rebounds as he led their early spurt to grab a 27-18 opener before finishing the half, 50-33.
San Beda had everything going its way from there, with Tony Ynot amassing 18 points, eight boards, four dimes, and four steals off the bench, as Cyrus Llarena had 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The Red Cubs' stellar showing even saw them grab 30-point leads late in the third frame.
Mac Guadana led the valiant Junior Pirates with 24 points, six rebounds and three steals in the silver medal finish in the school's first trip to the finals.
Jae Omandac had 12 points and four boards, while Season MVP John Barba was limited to just 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists in the loss.
