SAN Beda escaped a pesky Arellano crew to bag its sixth straight win, 58-54, in the NCAA Season 95 juniors basketball tournament on Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Tony Ynot tallied 14 points, four steals, and three rebounds and did his part on defense as well to keep the Red Cubs on top at 10-1 (win-loss).
Rhayyan Amsali added 13 points and nine rebounds, while Yukien Andrada also had 13 points, nine boards, and two assists.
The win, however, didn't easy for San Beda, especially with Arellano refusing to lose in the final minute as it held a close 56-54 lead.
Felix Villarante, unfortunately, botched his game-tying floater in the waning seconds before Justine Sanchez iced the game from the charity stripe.
Arellano suffered its fifth straight loss to drop to 5-6 in the standings.
Marc Cuenco led the Braves with 21 points and six rebounds, while Danren Nepomuceno had 10 in the defeat.
